This building was built in 17th century. The hotel has 90 rooms, colonial styled Hotel Suisse, stands on nearly four acres of landscaped garden – the only city hotel in Kandy to stand such a significantly massive acreage. including seven suites, a lounge bar and restaurant. It also has an outdoor swimming pool, Ayurvedic centre, sauna and spa. In addition to this, it consists of a main restaurant and a coffee shop.
Hotel Suisse – a timeless piece of colonial era. Located beside the scenic and historic Kandy Lake, it sits on nearly four acres of landscaped gardens making for one of the most expansive areas in the magnificent city of Kandy. An ideal choice of stay during your exploration journey of the city such as visiting the Kandy temple of the tooth relic and many other popular places of interest.
Sitting beside the scenic and historic Kandy Lake, Hotel Suisse was originally the residence of the Chief Minister of the Royal Granary in the 17th century which was then occupied by a British officer who named it ‘Haramby House’. After which it was sold to a Swiss Lady who ran it as a guest house before it became the headquarters of the South East Asia Command during the Second World War.
There are four room types; standard rooms, deluxe rooms, super deluxe rooms and suites. All the rooms are beautifully furnished with wooden interiors and floral decor with views of the garden and pool.
