One fabulous way of exploring the tea country is to jump aboard the train. With this journey all the way through scenic tea gardens. When you traveling by train you can see St. Clare and Devon waterfalls enroute. The morning railway journey from Kandy to the highlands of Nuwaraeliya, climbing uphill up to 6,000ft above sea level is one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. The dramatic landscape of the highlands stirs the senses – winding past lush tea plantations, majestic peaks and rushing waterfalls. (Train ride in first class can be arranged on availability only). If you like to do this must inform me before at least seven weeks before the travel date to reserve tickets, because it has limited number of seats only.
If you are leaving from Kandy, you can getting to train from Kandy or Peradeniya raiway station, will be picked up from Nanu Oya railway station, 9km away from Nuwaraeliya (little England) by the vehicle with your luggage. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya and check in to the hotel. Your vehicle will travel ahead of you and pick you up from a Nanu Oya railway station and transfer to Nuwaraeliya (little England). Also famous there are more train journeis. Ella - Haputale, Kandy - Hatton etc. All these jounies are in hill country.
To save travel time and make the most of your tour, we suggest continuing directly to Ella instead of staying overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
