The Samadhi statue is a highly revered and iconic statue located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The statue depicts a meditating Buddha sitting in the lotus position, with his hands resting on his lap in the dhyana mudra, which represents concentration and meditation. The statue is considered one of the finest examples of Buddhist art and is renowned for its exquisite detailing and serene expression. The Samadhi statue is believed to have been created during the 3rd century BCE, during the reign of King Devanam Piya Tissa. It is a significant symbol of Buddhism and is considered an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists from around the world. Visitors to Anuradhapura often come to see the Samadhi statue as part of their tour of the city's historic and religious sites.
