Kithulgala White Water Rafting Adventure Day Tour
Located just a three-hour drive from Colombo along the picturesque Nuwara Eliya road, Kitulgala is a verdant rainforest patch renowned for its natural beauty. The area attracts a large number of local and foreign tourists, drawn by its stunning scenery and diverse range of activities.
Kitulgala is perhaps best known as the filming location for the Academy Award-winning movie "The Bridge on the River Kwai." Although little remains of the iconic bridge, visitors can still see its concrete foundations along the Kelani River. Kitulgala is also a hub for white-water rafting in Sri Lanka, but there are many other leisure and adventure activities available to visitors.

Our tour itinerary begins with a
Pick-up from your Colombo hotel, followed by a scenic three-hour drive to Kitulgala.
The tour includes a trek to the natural rock pools and waterfalls of Kataran-Oya, where you can experience sliding down a 5-meter waterfall, confidence jumping into a natural rock pool, and swimming in cool and clean rainforest waters.
You can also enjoy white water rafting on the picturesque Kelani River, covering 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids, with modern rafts and safety gear provided.
This activity is suitable for anyone over the age of 10, and a comprehensive safety briefing will be given by our instructors beforehand.
The distance covered is around 5 kilometers, and the river and its surrounding scenery are truly enchanting.
After your adventures, enjoy a Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch before transferring back to Colombo, again with a scenic three-hour drive.
