We are now back at home after the lovely time with you in Sri Lanka, and
visiting Hong Kong.

Thank you for driving for us while we were in Sri Lanka.

In particular, we appreciated


  - your smooth, calm and efficient driving through varied traffic conditions
  - your calmness when things did not go quite as expected
  - your being available at all times of day - I'm remembering our late
  arrival at the airport, and our late departure
  - your information about all sorts of things we asked about
  - your stories of the varied and interesting clients you have had over
  the years
  - your efforts to find things we wanted to try eating - rambutans sold
  beside the road, the fresh and wonderful cashews right from where they were
  grown, eating kottu-roti and hoppers at street restaurants, and finding us
  good Sri Lankan food when we were travelling, including red raw rice
  - ensuring we got to do all the things we wanted to from our itinerary:
  exploring Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiria and Pollunarawa. You took us
  around the huge sites at Anuradhapura and Pollunarawa so that we saw the
  highlights in our limited time. You added extra things to round out our
  visit to Sri Lanka, like seeing elephants, water monitors, deer, varieties
  of monkeys, teak trees and other plants
  - the very clean car every morning - an indication of your high standards.

We have no hesitation in recommending you to travellers to Sri Lanka,
and in fact have already made that clear to all our friends. Having a
personal, well-informed, helpful driver sure beats taking a tourist
bus!

We have included a few photos, mostly of us and you, and in small size
so it will not fill up your email memory. But there are many more
beautiful pictures and these can come in full size, if you request
them.

We are all fine dear, I have visited Sri Lanka and I loved the country, Insha’Allah I will visit again your country, it is amazing place. This is the first  day at work , really I enjoy the tour to sri lanka with my  family  and it was very nice and  I wish  to go again to sri lanka and of course you were very good and polite and respectable guy  -thanks  a lot  for every thing and  I wish you and your family the best .

We just got back to Singapore today...I am will be back to work tomorrow.. :) Sad but true ha ha…….

We were very lucky to have you as our guide. I don’t think there will be anyone else who could have done an excellent job that you have done.

Dear Cyril,

Sincerest apologies for this delayed email --- reason being that I had been extremely busy with work & travel, since returning from Sri Lanka and just got a breather now, to download our photos and catch up with private matters.

Hope this email finds you & family, in the best of health & spirits. Your granddaughter must be keeping you busy and giving you & Mrs. Baddegama immense joy.

At this end, we are doing fine. Nikhita is back at school, now in Grade 7 and having lots of studying to cope with --- with God's blessings, we hope she will do as well as did in her previous class.

She is constantly talking about the wonderful time she had in Sri Lanka. Fact of the matter is that all of us had a great time and for that, we have to thank you --- it was arguably one of the best holidays we have ever had --- Nikhita is already looking forward to her next trip there and something tells me, it will be one of her favorite travel destinations even after she grows up and who can fault her for that as the country is blessed with unsurpassed beauty --- we wish for nothing else but complete peace, continued progress & commensurate  prosperity for Sri Lanka and her people :-)

Bet you were glued to the TV and caught all the action surrounding the Cricket World Cup final in Mumbai. It was a wonderful match. Even though India won, I personally felt that the Sri Lankan played very well and deserved all the kudos. If they keep up with this standard of performance, I have no doubt that they will lift the cup in the next World Cup. Personally, very sad to note of Muralitharan's retirement and that Kumar Sangakkara has relinquished his captaincy --- clearly two of the best cricket players the world has seen in recent times. FYI, Nikhita still gets all excited when we talk about the absolutely-catchy Sri Lankan cricket jingle which we used to hear over the radio, whilst traveling in your car.

As requested, please find attached some photos that we had taken during our holidays there. Do drop me a line to acknowledge this email, so that I know that the photos have come through. I know you will be busy shuttling from one place to another but do keep in touch, whenever time permits. I will also do likewise and will also call when I am next in Colombo.

Dear Cyril,

We are very grateful to you for your services that you have done to make our holiday in this beautiful country.
